Sized to use on both sweep and scull oars, this tool is not a simple push tool. To use, the rower slides the tool over the spacer from the side, aligns the open jaws of the spacer in the slot, and with the ring at the base - the rower is able to pull the spacer back towards them. When those stubborn spacers get pulled out, no longer will they fly away from the boat. This design ensures the spacer goes back towards the user, and the need to row over to run away spacers is gone. Weighing in at just under .75 ounces, this lightweight plastic material is easy to carry and will never corrode, yet is very strong. A handy small hole at the tip allows for a keychain to be used, and the slightly larger sweep spacer can be held in the finger slot hole once removed.
