The Crosman M4-177 is a multi-pump .177 air rifle that uses both pellets and BBs, so you can switch between them depending on what you're doing. The pump system lets you control the power. Do a few pumps for light practice, or max it out, and you're pushing up to 700 FPS with pellets or 645 FPS with steel BBs. The rifled steel barrel makes a noticeable difference when you're shooting pellets. You'll get tighter groups compared to a smooth bore, especially the farther out you go. When you switch to BBs, the built-in clip reservoir handles feeding, so you don't have to load one at a time. The synthetic stock is adjustable, fits different shooter sizes, and holds up outdoors without warping or cracking. The dual-aperture rear sight gives you two sight pictures to choose from, and the elevation-adjustable front pin lets you dial in your zero. If you want to throw a scope on it, the Picatinny rail is already there. At 34 inches and 3.57 pounds, it's light enough to handle all day but still feels like a real piece of equipment.
